Version 1.3.0 Release - The Tutorial Update
Version 1.3.0 has been released!
Sorry this update took so long to come out! I suddenly became sick right before the deadline and discovered a bunch of game-breaking bugs that needed to be fixed. If you'd like to learn more about this update, read about it in the announcement post.
Alternate Versions Now Available
Versions for Windows 32-bit systems and Linux are now available.
Tutorial
So the main focus of the Tutorial Update is obviously the tutorial. I don't think I need to go much into detail for this addition as I feel it is pretty self-explanatory. The tutorial will be significantly more interactive than the current piece of paper that you get to read for about 30 seconds at the beginning of the prototype and should help to actually teach new players how to play the game rather than just hope they read the manual.
Cheat Sheet Rework
The cheat sheet has been streamlined, and most of the information contained within it has been moved to the tutorial so that it is much clearer what the important information on the page is.
Graphics
- Bloom effect removed from some scenes
- Scene loading transitions have been added
- New cheat sheet
Balance
- Attacker objectives have been reworked to increase the chance that attackers win significantly
Quality of Life
- Added return to main menu button on defeat screen
- Added quit button to main menu
Bug Fixes
- Game is immediately won when match time runs out in certain circumstances
- Game is won without pressing button required to win
- Game is impossible to win if the attackers' win condition is met
- Incorrect tutorial message on the main monitor
- Timer fixed
- Infinite loading screen
- Red X from losing health blocks raycasts
- Visual indicators for some progress bars (such as match timers and objectives) do not become fully empty when they are at 0
Backend
- Scene loading has been optimized for faster development in the future
- Minor optimization for attacker objective progression
- Save system disabled
- Console system added
- Camera movement system rework
